An Elegant Sofa Family - Straightforward upholstered furniture series. The Outline family follows in the footsteps of the classic Scandinavian design sofas of the 1960s, but with a new perspective: it merges the ideals of simplicity and function into a single unit.

The design takes its name from the strong contours of a sofa. The Outline family looks elegant on the outside with a deep seat and soft upholstery on the inside. In addition, it brings a timeless expression, with lines that reference architectural forms and curved armrests that give the design a distinctive look.

The Outline sofa by multi-award-winning designer duo Anderssen & Voll for Muuto has a light, understated yet elegant appearance. It was inspired by the language of modernist architecture. The Outline line with its different 1, 2, 3 and chaise longue versions offers numerous possible combinations and uses for private rooms or in hotels and business premises. Thanks to comfortable seat and back cushions - with textile covers from Kvadrat and Arve or Silk leather from Camo - and optimum seat depth, it is simply a great place to relax.

"With the Outline daybed, we wanted to create a visually light and elegant design with a high level of comfort, while transferring aspects of modern architecture into the design through the juxtaposition of elements," say designers Anderssen & Voll.

The Outline upholstered furniture series from Muuto consists of sofas and armchairs that are characterized by their linear frames and slender legs, making them minimalist, timeless pieces of furniture. The series was designed by Anderssen & Voll and includes armchairs and sofas in various sizes with fabric or leather covers in different colors and thus adapts perfectly to any room situation.

The latest member of the Outline Series: The Outline Daybed

The Outline daybed features an elegant design that translates the simple lines and refined mood of the range into a new perspective on 1960s Scandinavian design in a daybed. The slender, elegant lines of the daybed frame and upholstery hint at the architectural references. With its slender aluminum steel legs, they take on a light and sublime appearance. The daybed serves as a centerpiece in living rooms, hallways and lobby areas or as an addition to a lounge environment.

About Anderssen & Voll

Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll work in different design disciplines with a focus on household objects; an area in which they have designed a number of Muuto products.
