From a 1970s structure to a modern family home: sustainable transformation in Küsnacht
We are delighted that our renovation project in Küsnacht was featured on the cover of the September 2024 issue of Modernizing houses is featured. The report "With a master plan" describes in detail how we worked with the owners to transform a 1970s two-family home into a modern, environmentally friendly detached house.
Point by point to new quality
The transformation of the house was based on a clear five-year plan that was developed together with the owners. The aim was to preserve the old building fabric while creating a modern living concept. It was particularly important to us to use sustainable materials such as lime and rust finishes as well as environmentally friendly floor coverings and to optimize the energy balance with triple insulation and state-of-the-art heating technology.
Change and preserve: A harmonious balance
A central element of the project was the careful adaptation of the existing structures. Wherever possible, original elements were retained and complemented by modern solutions. The rooms were opened up and extended to create more light and flexibility, while the centerpiece - the connection between the kitchen and dining room - combines the charm of traditional design with contemporary functionality.
