RAUMTAKT - 10 years of innovation in sustainability and design
Zurich-based architecture firm Raumtakt is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Founder and Managing Director Stefan Müller looks back on a decade of numerous projects. Raumtakt's successful existence is primarily due to its constant change. Founder and Managing Director Stefan Müller not only specializes in residential and office conversions, but is also a visionary architect who already had future topics such as the circular economy and blockchain technology on his radar when he founded the company.
For a decade, the Zurich-based architecture firm Raumtakt has been setting new standards in the design of buildings and spaces. The buildings should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also functional and sustainable. Combining innovative design and architecture with the circular economy and sustainable materials has earned Raumtakt a special position as an architectural firm.
When Stefan Müller founded Raumtakt ten years ago, his vision was to make a positive contribution to the planet with innovative architecture. Müller began with the first conversions for private individuals in the canton of Zurich. Thanks to his creative design approaches and efficient project management, Stefan Müller won further clients in Switzerland and abroad. Raumtakt had made a name for itself for impressive conversions and repurposing with sophisticated interior design. "Rooms are emotional and have a decisive influence on our everyday lives. But they also represent their users. That's why collaboration with our clients is so important to me," says Müller. Over the years, Raumtakt's interior solutions have always been geared towards the context and use. "They should be convincing, usable, but also surprising."
Raumtakt not only sets a high bar for the conversion of houses and rooms, but also wants to be an active part of the circular economy. "The construction industry generates more CO2 emissions than almost any other industry. As an architect, I see it as my job not only to create beautiful houses, but also to counteract climate change," says Müller.
Climate protection also works with beautiful design
However, the architecture firm in the refreshing and inspiring Zurich district of Binz is constantly evolving: Stefan Müller expanded business activities into the office sector with his first project for Aquila Capital from Hamburg. Raumtakt was nominated for the Design Prize Switzerland 2023 for the office conversion for the Zurich content agency Monami. In addition to ongoing projects for building conversions, Raumtakt will be tackling a new Circle Economy Areal project in Winterthur in the coming months.
Stefan Müller is looking forward to furnishing the buildings: "Our projects range from residential buildings, commercial spaces and offices to public facilities. Every design bears witness to our striving for excellence," says Müller, visibly proud of his company's tenth anniversary.
Because Müller focused on digitalization right from the start and constantly equipped his office and employees with the latest technologies, he can now ensure an efficient and cost-effective way of working. Müller is convinced that going digital is part and parcel of today's architecture firm. His curiosity about new technologies such as blockchain and 3D printing has kept Raumtakt one step ahead. "Over the last ten years, we have constantly evolved, integrated new technologies and introduced sustainable practices to meet the challenges of the 21st century," says Müller. He adds: "We are excited about the possibilities that still lie ahead - and about continuing to create spaces that inspire, function and are sustainable."
