The best conversion - Architecture Prize 2022

The appreciation for conversion and renovation has grown more and more in recent years. Architects and clients are approaching their tasks with enthusiasm, a high degree of innovation and a great deal of respect for existing buildings. This is once again demonstrated by the 61 projects submitted for the architecture prize "The Best Renovation 2022": Single and multi-family homes, apartments, converted farm buildings, extensions, additions, renovations - a meaningful cross-section of the challenges that old buildings present us with. "The Best Conversion" is awarded every two years by the magazine Umbauen + Renovieren with the aim of raising awareness of the preservation of existing buildings and the responsible use of existing structures. The prize is awarded to converted, extended and renovated residential buildings of outstanding quality in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. All projects submitted for the 2022 edition are shown in the accompanying volume and the award winners are presented in detailed articles.
